What’s the best gift you ever received? Was it something you can touch or something you experienced?
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the holidays and gift giving. While there are a handful of truly special gifts I have received over the years, my favorites usually involve some sort of experience- spending time with loved ones and doing something together.
This holiday season in addition to wrapping up a gift in a beautiful bow (because we all like a little something to open on Christmas morning) think about what you can give that will create a memory for years to come. Maybe you’ll give your mom a makeover or play a round of golf with your dad. Maybe you’ll take your kids to see a Broadway show at The Peace Center. Whatever you decide to do – make sure there is meaning behind it.
Speaking of, as many of you know, each year we select gifts that are meaningful to us- our “Favorite Things” and proceeds from these gifts go to give back to those in need right here in our community. Again this year, proceeds from our Favorite Things will go to the Joyful Ornament Fund that helps local cancer patients cover medical expenses and other daily life necessities.
Cheers!
