Every year we talk about Earth Month and the importance of clean water. The work AVEDA does to support global causes is truly astounding, and right here in our own community YOU are doing some amazing work as well. The places we love right here in our own community like Conestee Nature Preserve, Cleveland Park Stables, and Falls Park need to be cleaned up regularly and Friends of the Reedy River works tirelessly to keep our beautiful spaces, beautiful and the water that runs through them, protected. This month, we are spotlighting two charities: Aveda’s Charity Water and Greenville’s own Friends of the Reedy River.

charity: water is a nonprofit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to communities in need. Since 2006, charity: water has funded over 59,000 water projects around the world to help 11.6 million people get access to clean water, hygiene and improved sanitation. 100% of donations go directly to clean water costs. We love the local organization Friends of the Reedy River. They monitor the river’s water quality (using kits purchased with funds raised by Ivy’s guests!) and advocate for the river in all of the building projects and construction that is taking place all over Greenville. They also educate Greenville’s citizens about measures we can take to help keep our river clean. To learn more, visit https://www.friendsofthereedyriver.org/
